The Meeker P.E.O. Chapter BA would like to thank everyone who attended the Quilts in the Country quilt show last Saturday. More than 200 people visited the historic Meeker Elementary School to enjoy the talents of so many local quilters. The bake sale was also a huge hit with many delicious homemade treats. The proceeds from the quilt show and bake sale go to support the P.E.O. scholarship programs. A special thank you to the Town of Meeker for allowing the Meeker P.E.O. Chapter BA the use of the historic Meeker Elementary School. Also a thank you to the members of the Meeker Classic who helped share information about the Quilts in the Country show. Although there were many spectacular quilts, it was no surprise that the winner of the People’s Choice Award was the Hawaiian quilt owned by Charlotte Mobley and hand quilted by Sally Sizemore. The raffle quilt went to Evalyn Carstens. Thank you again to all who volunteered and supported Quilts in Northwest Colorado.bobby gutierrez
