RANGELY — The Rangely municipal election has been canceled, due to a disappointingly low turnout of prospective council and mayoral candidates.
Ann Brady will continue to serve as mayor and Frank Huitt was unopposed for his seat on the council. Bernie Rice is term limited and could not run again and Brent Shroyer will be appointed to fill his seat. Sarah Hume choose not to run to retain her position and Brad Casto will receive that appointment.
More information will be released soon concerning the replacement of Town Manager Lance Stewart and planner Jeff Devere now that interviews with applicants are set to commence. It was also announced that the Easter egg hunt in Elks Park has been canceled due to remaining snow and mud. White River Market has scheduled some alternative activities.
