RANGELY I The Rangely Panther Country 4-H Club met for the second time this year on March 29, 2012, at the Rangely Annex Building with 12 members in attendance. Tristan Hall and Del Gardener started the meeting with a farm presentation for the six attending Clover Buds. Tessa Slagle led the meeting with the pledges and the nominations for this year’s club officers. The 2012 officers are president Kaylee Mecham, vice president Layne Mecham, secretary Destineé Bland, treasurer Tristan Hall, reporter Tessa Slagle, historian Del Gardener, and pledge leaders Zane Cordrey and Abigail Winston. After the election, Del and AJ Gardener gave a demonstration on rabbit body parts and what to expect in the show ring at fair with your rabbit project. Leader Bonnie Long showed all the members what to look for in feed and hay. After the meeting, judging kids practiced for their upcoming competitions. On April 5 the club helped the Elks Club dye Easter eggs for this year’s annual Easter egg hunt. For all council members selling flowers, the orders and money need to be turned into Roxie by April 16. The next Panther Country meeting is on Thursday, April 26. The Rangely community pens are filling up quickly with baby goats and pigs and the community is encouraged to come to visit.
