RANGELY | This past weekend the lady Panthers looked to continue their season at the regional tournament in Wiggins. To make it to state, they needed to first contend with the Wiggins Tigers and Heritage Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, the Panthers did not prevail to extend their season to the final week.
Both matches were lost in three sets (Wiggins: 19-25, 16-25, and 19-25; Heritage Christian: 17-25, 21-25, 20-25). Both were hard fought matches and the Panthers did put up some great numbers. Freshman Chloe Goshe ended her season with 40 assists. Junior Hannah Wilkie totaled 15 kills, while Sophomore Kacie Lapp came away with seven and Senior Marlena Miller had four. As far as single blocks Marlena totaled 10, Freshman Aspen Low totaled five and Hannah blocked four hits. Senior Skylar Thacker once again was strong on offense and defense with four total aces and 30 digs. Senior Makenze Cochrane was also strong defensively with 22 digs total.
The players and coaches would like to send a huge shout out and thank you to all of the parents that travelled to support us, not only the six hour trek this last weekend but all season long. Thank you so very much. We appreciate it more than you know!
