RANGELY I The Rangely High School golf team is entering the mid-point of their season.
On Tuesday, the team was at Tiara Rado in Grand Junction for the fourth tournament of the season for the Panthers.
On Aug. 20, the Panthers golfers were at Rifle enjoying Rifle Creek Golf Course.
Landon Rowley played his first junior varsity match of the season. This experience will be very helpful for him down the road.
All of the team’s scores were considerably lower than the previous meet at Redlands Mesa Golf Course in Grand Junction.
On Tuesday, the Panthers hit the links at the Rifle Bears Invitational played on the Rifle Creek Golf Course.
Marshal Way led the way for the varsity golfers with a score of 81, followed by Nick Burri with 89, Robert Dunker with 108, James Scoggins with 118, and Jarrod Fiscus with 131.
Landon Rowley also tackled the course in the first junior varsity match of the season.
Coach Skelton was happy with the team members’ performances as they all scored considerably lower than at their prior play on the Redlands Mesa Golf Course in Grand Junction.
Next week, the team will be at Yampa Valley Golf Course on Wednesday. The entire team will play on this day, giving a few more junior varsity players some time on a new course.
On Sept. 5, the team will travel to Meeker to experience the golf course on the east end of the county.
