RBC | The Rangely District Hospital Health Fair is set for Saturday, April 7 from 7-11 a.m. at the hospital.
This year the fair will offer a variety of basic health screenings including hearing, blood pressure, blood chemistry and count, A1C, Vitamin D, colon cancer and prostate. They are also introducing Hepatitis C and Vitamin B12 screenings. Participants will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes including bicycles and a Bowflex machine.
Rangely District Hospital took over management of the health fair in 2011. Hospital CEO Nick Goshe believes the fair provides a valuable service to the community by bringing low cost preventative screenings to Rangely. “We know healthcare is expensive,” he said. The screenings provided are either at or below the cost to the hospital.
Last year’s fair saw approximately 300 visitors and identified 7-10 people who required follow up care.
This year the hospital will not offer pre-draw times. If patients are unable to make the fair on April 7 they are encouraged to call and schedule for a different time, still at the discounted prices.
