RANGELY | Rangely Junior High football bounced back from last week’s loss with a big 50-20 win over the South Routt County (Soroco) Rams. Eighth grader Koby Chism had a big game with three touchdowns. He started the scoring off for the Panthers with a one-yard touchdown run after a long opening drive. He also completed a 60-yard catch and run to fellow eighth grader Dalton LeBleu. Chism capped his day by running back an interception for a touchdown in the last minute of the first half. Jaxon Torsell added to his team leading touchdown total by returning a kick off to end the first half bringing his season total to six.
The second half gave way to seventh grader Clay Allred at quarterback. Allred led the offense throughout the second half, including getting his first touchdown of the season on a 30 yard run. Sixth graders Chase Cochrane and Kolby Olsen played well throughout the game. The team will travel to Oak Creek next Saturday to take on the Rams.
