RANGELY | Rangely junior high volleyball traveled to Vernal on Tuesday for a game. “This was a very competitive game for us,” said head coach Jimmie Mergelman. The girls played five games losing in the fifth with a score of 13-15.
“A lot of good things happened, our serving was consistent, and our ability to set up the ball is going to do good things for us in the future. Morgan Ellis is doing a great job of getting our hitters an opportunity to kill the ball,” Mergelman said.
Saturday Rangely hosted a triangular with Meeker and Moffat County. The young Panthers lost in two in Meeker.
“Our serve receive caused a few problems for us that we were not able to overcome. Along with too many missed serves.”
The team rebounded against Moffat County winning in two. Kaitlyn Cox and Ryann Mergelman led the way with serving. This week the team plays DeBeque and Soroco.
