RANGELY — I’m not even going to comment on the weather this week! I’m just thankful to live in Colorado where we have such a wide variety of weather. I want to start my column this week with a recognition of Rosa Lopez, who is now an official citizen of the United States. She had her swearing in ceremony in Grand Junction Jan. 30 and I heard the high school staff had a pizza and cake party for her. Congratulations, Rosa!
Speaking of celebrations, my little sister, Emma, will be baptized this weekend and we are looking forward to family coming in to celebrate with us.
Today is the last day to purchase tickets to the Chamber Crab Crack, which will be held Feb. 9 at CNCC. I know there were a limited number of tickets, so call Phyllis Henley at (970) 675-5290 to see if there are any left. This event is an annual fund raiser for the Chamber of Commerce.
Quick recovery wishes to Jane Miller! Also, please keep baby Alivia Green in your thoughts as she recovers from her surgery!
Birthday wishes to Shane Mecham on Feb. 7, Hoot Gibson on Feb. 9, Melinda Powell on Feb 10 and Cody Jackson, Donna Hayden and Mary Ann Allred on Feb. 13.
Until next week! I’m just sitting here waiting for your news. Call me at (970) 675-8021 or e-mail [email protected].
