RANGELY I On Friday, April 14, the Rangely Middle School track and field team proudly represented their district at the Meeker Track and Field meet. The weather was beautiful, stands were packed and coaches couldn’t be more proud of the effort put forth by the team.
During eighth grade field events, Dixie Rhea earned first place in triple jump and second place in long jump. Sixth/seventh grade field event results began with Mary Scoggins winning first place in long and triple jumps. Chase Beard earned second place finishes in long and high jumps, Anthony Dorris netted third place in high jump, Timothy Scoggins jumped his way to a fourth place high jump finish, and Andrew Dorris came out in fifth place in high jump. Rylee Allred threw her way to a fourth place finish in discus.
Eighth grade running event results included Dixie Rhea sprinting her way to a first place finish in the 100-meter dash. The eighth grade girls 800-meter medley finished in fourth place and included Dixie Rhea, Chloe Goshe, Mary Scoggins, and Aliyah Jackson. Sixth/seventh grade running event results included Mary Scoggins’ fast paced second place finish in the 400-meter quarter mile run. Norrah Patch earned fourth place in the 1,600-meter mile run and Andrew Dorris finished in fifth place in the 400-meter quarter mile run.
