rangely I The Rangely Outdoor Museum will open Friday for weekends throughout May. The hours will be Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Starting Jun 2, the museum will be open seven days a week with the hours being Monday through Friday from 10a.m. to 4 p.m and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
The museum has had a busy spring with the ongoing renovation of the 1913 school house. Once the renovation began, we were informed that the foundation was in dire need of repair. The foundation boards were rotted out and the building was coming apart.
With the help of so many, the museum was able to save the building. Now that the foundation is repaired, the renovations can continue.
The new windows are in and the siding is in the process of being replaced. Once all the trim is on and sealed, the building will be painted. Museum officials are hoping to have that job complete and be ready to reopen by the first of June.
Join the Rangely Museum Society and receive the quarterly newsletter called the “White River Crier,” which includes information on projects, events and history stories of area pioneers. Come and check the inside and outside displays along with our gift shop. The museum has new cook books for sale now.
We do not charge an entry fee, so bring the whole family. During business hours the museum can be reached at 970-675-2612 for further information. The museum’s e-mail is [email protected].
