RANGELY I “I would like to start off by saying sorry to Dylan Smuts. I forgot to put him in last weeks paper. Dylan did an outstanding job last week in the Rangely tournament. He wrestled his heart out and took first place. Great job, little D,” said coach Andy Lucero.
The Rangely Panthers Youth Wrestling team was in Hayden this past weekend and did another outstanding job. Twenty Rangely wrestlers competed in the tournament, with 17 placing in the top four. This week’s champions were Tyce Lucero, Jedidiah Vandewark, Kobey Chism, Karver Lopez, Jose Flores, Zane Varner, Calvin Bishop and Byron Mackay. Second place winners were Anthony Dorris, Johnny Dominguez and Dontea Pearce. Third place winners were Joshua Dunn, Andrew Slack, Tytus Coombs and Lane Hallmark. Fourth place winners were Landon Williams and Max Stout. Also competing but not placing was Emiliano Rocha, Tim Stieb and Gavan Kendall. “Overall, an outstanding performance on behalf of the Rangely youth wrestlers!
Also a big thank you to all the coaches that attended the tournament to help out,” Lucero said.
