Rangely Recreation News: February 14, 2008

n Registrations are still being taken for the annual Rangely Racquetball Tournament to be held Feb. 29-March 2. The entry fee is $30 for the first event and $15 for each additional event.
n The beginning date for “Youth Sports Night” has been moved to Tuesday, Feb. 26. Every week we’ll play a different sport that emphasizes teamwork and physical fitness. Children in the second-fifth-grades will be at Parkview Elementary from 3:30-4:15 p.m. and children in the sixth-eighth-grades will be at Rangely Middle School from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. You must register at the Rec. Center prior to attending this event. Cost $5.
n Registrations for adult basketball are now being taken at the Rec Center. League start date will be dependent on enough teams being registered. The cost of the league will be $40 per team. For more information contact recreation supervisor Eric Hejl at 675-8211.
n The next ski trip to Sunlight Mountain Resort is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 18. Sign up at the Rec. Center in order to receive a discounted lift ticket and fill out rental forms. Transportation is on your own. Tickets will be handed out at Sunlight between 9-9:30 a.m. on the morning of the trip.
n We are constantly looking for new program ideas as well as individuals who are interested in assisting in the implementation of these programs. If you or someone you know may be interested in being an instructor for activities such as youth dance (any type), youth gymnastics, adult aerobics or anything else.
