RANGELY I The Panther track team went to Craig to compete at the 2010 Clint Wells Invitational. Here are highlights:
For the boys’ team, junior Cole Barlow broke his personal record for the 200 dash. He managed to break 24 seconds with a time of 23.96, taking eighth place overall. Logan Osborne stepped up again and took fourth place in both the 300 and the 100 hurdles. William Scoggins took sixth overall in the 3,200 run. The boys’ 4×100 relay team took sixth place with a time of 48.58 seconds. This team included Barlow, Patrick Phelan, Osborne and Jason Stults. Also, Mark Perzinski took fifth in high jump and eighth place in the long jump with a distance of 18-01.
For the girls, senior Audrey Hogan ran the 400 in 1:06.75 and took second place to bring home a medal. She then managed to score eighth place in the 800. Kelsey Prosser had her second attempt at the 100 hurdles. She took time off her first score and placed ninth out of about 20. The girls’ 4×100 relay took fourth place with a time of 1:01.73. Runners were Heather Turner, Kelsey Prosser, PJ Hernandez and Myriah Moreno. That same team took sixth place in the 4x200m relay. In the field events, Marie Morton took fifth place with a distance of 31-05.25. Holly Lepro was right behind her scoring sixth with a distance of 31-03. Morton also stepped it up in the discus with a distance of 92-03.
The Panthers head to West Grand this Saturday for league, and then head to regionals on May 14 and 15.
