Coach Jimmie Mergelman said, “Klaire Denny and Hallie Elam did a nice job of stepping up. With Allred out sick, we had to move a couple girls around.”
The team took care of business in their first round, serving extremely well. Their victory set the stage for the match against West Grand with the winner advancing to Saturday’s championship pool.
The team knew the match was big, but they played a little timid falling in the first game before gathering themselves and playing considerably better in the second game.
Mergelman said, “Allred did a nice job in the the middle of this match, and Katelyn Brown played well all the way around, and Kassidee Brown stepped in and played very well.”
The team fell short of victory in the match but certainly showed they will be a team to contend with next season as they will have the majority of the team return to build off a third-place league finish.
Mergelman said she is proud of the hard work and dedication of her team this year.
