RANGELY I In a tuneup for homecoming Friday, Rangely’s volleyball team won both of its matches last week.
And the Lady Panthers did it in fine fashion.
“We played well in both games, winning in three,” said coach Jimmie Mergleman of the victories over Manila, Utah, and Soroco.
“Manila is a team that you could lose to rather easily,” Mergleman said. “They are a scrappy team, but we played our style of volleyball.”
Next up was Soroco, for a league match.
“We came out fired up,” Mergleman said. “The girls played hard.”
As the Lady Panthers move into league play, the Rangely coach sees evidence of her team making important strides.
“We are coming together as a team, and it is good to see,” Mergleman said. “But we still have some fine tuning to do.”
This week, the Lady Panthers are home for both of its matches. They hosted De Beque on Tuesday, and Hayden will be here Friday for homecoming.
