• The K-T pushed a large bunch of cattle up river yesterday.
• Jack Shields closed the picture show season Monday night by giving a free entertainment to the “Kiddies” and parents. The show was largely attended and much enjoyed.
• Storklets: Dr. Montgomery reports the following visitations by the stork — Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Warlick, a boy; Pete and Mrs. Horn, a girl; J.H. and Mrs. Widner, a boy.
• Loving your neighbor as yourself means giving him a chance to make his living. Do you do your trading at home, or do you patronize the mail order houses?

• Mr. Floyd Lischke, who heads our Meeker TV committee, tells us they were able to buck the snow last Friday and get up to TV hill northwest of town and check on our booster station. They found that there was no signal coming in on Channel 4 at the Meeker booster. After putting new tubes into the booster station at Blue Mountain, reception of Channel 4 was restored. It had been out for a month.
• Production of crude oil from oil shale by a commercial company is expected within the next two years.
• Mrs. Robert White presented her elementary and junior high piano students in a recital at the junior high auditorium. The following students were heard in Sunday’s recital: Kathleen Sullivan, Betty Jean Allen, Margaret Jensen, John Villa, Barbara Lake, Shelley Spence, Keith Watson, Kerry Sue White, Phillip Weir, Darlene LeFevre, Karen Osborn, Bruce Long, Mary Margaret Oldland, Wendy Lee Overton, Cheryl Rosenlund, Linda Crawford, Jean Stephenson, Mary Sheridan, Phyllis Osborn, Mary Kay Villa, Christine Watson, Theo Hauck, Diana Amick, Christine Pearce, Susie Romersberger, Judy Buckles, Billie Jean Spence, Kay Jones, Kathy Reagle, Lora Jean White, Roger Weir, Beverly Barney, Sam Taylor, Anne Bloomfield, Jimmy Bates, Polly Idol, Janet Modlin, Karen Joslin, Vickie Jones, Joan Stephenson and Kathy Conrado.

• At the regular meeting of the Meeker Re-1 board, vocational agricultural director Rich Ellsworth requested $30,000 to construct an ornamental horticultural training facility at the high school.
• The lucky winner of Valley Grocery’s “National Frozen Food Month” freezer was Pete Kiser, who accepted his certificate from manager Cheryl Steiner. Pete not only won the new Westinghouse freezer but also a $100 gift certificate and will have his name entered in the Cancun, Mexico drawing.
• Fifth grade honor roll: Stacy Crawford, Amy Dupire, Pattie Kilduff, Kristy Nay, Laura Senechal, Tara Sommers, Tarrie Simpson, Heidi Willey, Ann Mohler, Jamie Larson, Trina Stout, Starla Hayes, Heather Hopson and Jessica Weybright.
• Meeker tracksters won the high jump, long jump and triple jump events at last weekend’s meet. Rex Copeland had a 6-2 long jump, Mike Parr had a 43-foot triple jump.

• Winners of the Rangely spelling bee are Mike Hefley, junior high division, and Markel Massey, elementary division.
• At the Campus Theatre: Marty Robbins in “Road to Nashville”; Elvis Presley in “Easy Come, Easy Go.”
• New residents of Rangely since the last report are VE Lee, John Farrell, Dean Cady, Leonard Maxfeldt and Dr. William Anderson.
• Coach Neil Crown’s Rangely Panthers dominated the Class B crown in the running of the annual Mesa College Invitational.

• The Bank of Rangely, in conjunction with the Bank Building Corporation of America, will break ground for its new building.
• A dam project on the White River near Rangely has been discussed for many years with the U.S. Corps of Engineers selecting a site early in this century.
• Henry Hames Jr. of the Colorado State Patrol Academy class of 1977 has been assigned to Rangely.

• Jim and Tricia Gilbert announce the birth of their son Todd Michael born March 28, 1987 at 6:30 p.m. weighing 6 lbs. 0.25 oz.
• The Rangely Arts Council presented a four-hand piano concert featuring Robert Haag, Doris Mae Smith and Kathy Burke.
