The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 327 phone calls last week including nine 911 calls, 45 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 89 outgoing calls. A total of 163 calls for service were created, 84 for the Sheriff’s Office, 56 for MPD and 11 assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops, issued three citations and one arrest. MPD had six stops and issued one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 17 agency assists, one 911 hang up, three civil papers served, four animal calls, seven citizen assists, two motorist assists, two property, four suspicious incidents, four attempts for sexual offender address verification, two traffic complaints, five traffic hazards, three warrant arrests and one each: alarm, DUI, fraud, VIN inspection.
Meeker Police Department calls included four agency assists, six animal calls, 16 business checks, two fraud, three motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, seven vin inspections and one each: 911 hangup, alarm, domestic violence, funeral escort, theft, traffic complaint and warrant arrest.
There were two calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, standby call for a traffic pursuit and one medical transport.
There were four assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in eight, five by the Sheriff’s Office and three by RPD. Five inmates were released. Deputies conducted two transports to or from another facility and currently there are 16 inmates in the facility.
Two traffic crashes were reported in the county, one involving car/deer. One DUI arrest.
