MEEKER I The Rio Blanco County Historical Society is inviting everyone to help celebrate the history of the Meeker Fire Department on Sunday.
A picnic potluck luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the courtyard between the White River Museum and the old garrison.
Hamburgers and picnic side dishes will be provided by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society board of directors. Guests are urged to bring a salad or a dessert.
At 1:30 p.m. will be a brief business meeting in the Old West Heritage Culture Center at 517 Park Ave., and that will be followed by a historic presentation at 2 p.m. with stories surrounding the Meeker Volunteer Fire Department.
All residents of the Meeker area and other Rio Blanco County residents are invited and urged to attend the celebration of this highly important part of Rio Blanco County’s past and present.
