MEEKER I In executive session on Tuesday night, the Meeker School Board of Education pared its search for a new Meeker School District superintendent to two candidates from Colorado.
Possibly as early as next week, the board could hold personal interviews with Mark Meyer of Alamosa and Gregory Wieman of Elizabeth, whose names were publicly released Wednesday.
Board president Iris Franklin said there were eight candidates who applied for the position and “none are from this area,” she said.
The vacancy was created when Superintendent Susan Goettel resigned after three years in that office.
