MEEKER I The tot spot in the Meeker Recreation Center will close its doors March 31.
However, patrons will continue to receive the same rates through the end of May by taking their children to the newly opened Angels and Outlaws facility across from the recreation center.
“When the Meeker Recreation Center opened, there wasn’t any option for childcare that was close by. Now, with the opening of the Angels and Outlaws facility across the street, it didn’t make sense for us to be in competition,” said Scott Pierson, recreation director. “They have trained and certified personnel and provide a great environment for the children. Becky (Ridings) and I have discussed a collaborative effort and our board also met with Becky and determined that this was the option we will be taking.”
“Angels & Outlaws Academy, LLC is excited for the opportunity to work with additional youth and the Meeker Recreation Center,” Riding said. “Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. We look forward to working with the Meeker Recreation Center on this collaborative effort,” said Ridings.
“We are looking at using the space for additional programming. One thing that immediately comes to mind are Pilates classes. We have some equipment that we would really be able to offer to the public, but it is currently in storage,” stated Pierson.
