MEEKER | The ERBM Recreation and Park District sponsored the Meeker Recreation Center (MRC) Summer swim team, which started June 6.Jamie Bumguardner and Adrienne Wix coached 18 swimmers, age 5-14 and competed in five meets, including the season-ending High Country Summer Swim League. The summer league included teams from Vail, Homestead, Summit County, Fraser Valley, Silverthorne, Eagle, Gypsum and Edwards.The MRC Summer swim team also swam in Eagle-Vail twice, in Vernal, Utah and in the Eagle championships early in July.“Each meet led to all MRC swimmers drastically improving their personal times,” coach Bumguardner said. “Overall, it was a great experience and we are looking forward to building the program in 2012.
