RANGELY | The spring season is so short that it is hard to believe that it has come to an end. All the Rangely High School soccer girls worked hard throughout the season to learn a sport that almost all of them had never played. Freshmen through seniors came out this year to try the sport for the first time and loved playing. The games did not go as planned but one thing is for sure: the girls never gave up no matter what. The team will miss the seniors next year but are determined to work harder next season.
Each senior contributed to the team along with their knowledge of the sport: Maria Blakely, Klaire Denny, Halie Elam, Grace Kenney, Elizabeth McCann and Katelyn Brown. Sarah Connor was one of our managers this year. The team will return 11 juniors as seniors next year who will have helpful experience behind them, including Kassidiee Brown, Phalon Osborn, KK Fortunato, Marlena Miller, Skylar Thacker, Alanna Wiley, Paityn Myers, Samantha Lapp, Aspen Rhea, Alexis Wiley and Jayde Trumbley. Also there will be four sophomores returning: Susie Gillard, Zoey Peck, Caeleigh Donavan and Andrea Knight. As with any sport came injuries, so two of our sophomores, Andrea Knight and Zoey Peck, became managers for part of the season. Two freshmen, Kacie Lapp and Meagan Ward, which contributed to the team this year. The coaching staff is excited for the returning players next year and for any new girls who would like to come out to play soccer next season.
