RBC I The following is a two-week review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, running from 8 a.m. on June 22 to 8 a.m. on July 6.

General Synopsis:
Dispatch received a 911 call from Highway 13 regarding a domestic violence incident in Garfield County.
Rio Blanco sheriff’s deputies, Meeker Police, Colorado State Parks and Wildlife officers assisted Routt and Garfield deputies in the search and capture of an alleged Routt County murder suspect in the Trappers Lake area. The suspect was eventually arrested and returned to Routt County for prosecution. A wildlife officer located the suspect vehicle Tuesday evening June 30 and he was placed in custody on July 1 around noon.
Two accidents over the holidays resulted in minor injuries.
Assisted BLM and Rangely fire departments with a four-acre wildfire in Dinosaur National Monument.
A gasket on a 200-barrel tank of hypochlorite solution failed and 200 gallons spilled into the containment pit on Piceance Creek. The spill posed no immediate health hazard and was cleaned up by the company.
Six car/deer accidents were reported in addition to one car/horse accident in which the horse had to be put down.

General Synopsis:
Assisted Edgewater Police Department in locating a stolen vehicle that was returned to the owner as a result of the inquiry.
A trash can on 12th Street caught on fire by used fireworks that were placed inside.
Multiple calls of fireworks complaints resulted in multiple warnings issued.
Lost and found property at the Fairgrounds over the 4th included: Blue wallet with a cell phone; Camo-colored cell phone, and a purse at White River Convenience that was returned to the owner.
Assisted Meeker Ambulance with a male party who fell on the street and hit his head.
An 86-year-old female passed away at her residence.
Rangely Police Department
The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting the Rangely Police Department dispatch center and does their dispatching on nights and weekends.The following are calls dispatched for them by the Meeker dispatch center.
7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights and weekends: Alarms 1; Assault 1; Assist Animal Control 3; Assist Public Works 1; Assist Sheriff’s Office 4; assist Rangely Fire 5; Citizen Assist 6; Disturbance 2; Harassment 1; Suspicious Incident 5; Suspicious Person 1; Theft 1; Traffic Stops 20; VIN Inspections 1.
