The lady Panthers volleyball team held its annual end of season banquet Monday and several players were honored by the Western Slope League and the team. Seniors Quincey Thacker and Brittany Babineaux were both named to the all-conference first team and Aimee Hogan was honorably mentioned. Thacker was also named the league and team MVP. Desiree Coombs was voted most improved, while Justyne Dembowski and Carrie Goddard were co-rookies of the year. Courtney Bell and Marielle Ive received the coaches’ award at the banquet.
The Western Slope League honorably mentioned Meeker High School junior Piper Haney and senior Jordan Brown for their play this season and named seniors Bailey Atwood and Kaysyn Chintala to the first team all-conference team. This was Atwood’s second year to be named to the all conference team first team. Chintala was named the “Western Slope League Setter of the Year,” and was selected to play in the CCOGS all-state game last Sunday, as did Rangely’s Quincey Thacker, please see related story.
