• Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Klein are the proud parents of a daughter born on Sunday, June 9. The young lady was named Emma Lou.

• Miss Carrie Ruckman drove to Grand Junction last week, bringing her brother Jack home after spending the last year at the Grand Junction Junior college.

• Si Berthelson was elected President of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association.
• Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher Day will be held on June 25 with prices for best costumes and fishing provided by the Game and Fish department.
• Miss Judy Luben of Powell Park was picked as the 1960 Range Call Rodeo Queen. Her attendants will be Janet Sizemore and Sandra Mobley.
• Lo Ann Shults wed Lowell Klinglesmith at the Meeker Methodist Church, Sunday, June 12.

• Colowyo inked a 330,000 ton coal contract with Coors.
• MeekCo, Inc. the holding company owning 91 percent of the stock of the First National Bank of Meeker, has sold its majority interest in the bank to J. and Carol Gentry, Timonthy S. Mather and John R. Schenk. Peter Y. Waller will be nominated as the President of First National Bank in Meeker.

• County Democrats gathered in Meeker Saturday to choose a slate of six delegates to attend the state Democratic convention in Durango June 18.
• Mike Hejl and Danny Hejl won a transistor radio by working together in the Rangely Times subscription contest.
• The 1950’s constituted the worst decade of disasters in the nation’s recorded history. That statement comes from the American Red Cross.
• Mr. and Mrs. Ike Carmickle announce the engagement of their daughter Barbara Jo to Mr. Gary Gurr.

• CNCC Athletic Director Jim Conrad was recently honored by the Denver Associate of Black Basketball Officials with a Certificate of Honor.
