• Judge Hazen has received advice from Washington which states that the Townsite Company will shortly be in receipt of the Townsite patent.
• As was expected, everybody who could possibly get to town turned out to attend Wednesday evening’s dance.
• Dist. No. 3 is getting the material on the ground for the school building.
• Politics are “booming” over on the Grand. Here we got right along putting up hay, branding stray “mavericks,” swapping ponies with the Utes, and still have time left to kill three bears every week, but we have no time to waste on politics.

• More than 300 attended the lamb barbecue last Sunday at the Bert Rosenlund ranch 20 miles west of Meeker. This tasty barbecue is put on each year by the Rio Blanco County Woolgrowers.
• Tom Murray Market reports that they have processed five deer so far in the Bow and Arrow season which started in Colorado this last week.
• Cowboys suffer first defeat of season at Montrose Friday.
• W.H. Purdy is the oldest resident of Rio Blanco County on Social Security and one of the five oldest in the 14 counties in the Grand Junction District.

• Texaco is making plans to develop a major oil and gas field in northeastern Rio Blanco County with estimated reserves of 10 million barrels.

• The fad in RHS now is still tennis shoes. They are still very popular, and this year there is something different in the way of sneakers. These shoes are made of corduroy, and the very best thing about them, I’m sure the mothers will agree, is the fact that they are washable.
