n One of the most enjoyable social affairs of the winter was the “Pumpkin Rollers” dance, given last evening by Charley Bloomfield and his fellow dry farmer of Oakridge park.
n The Gem theatre picture shows are good; Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
n New photograph gallery, Seventh and Water streets, one block south of Dougan’s blacksmith shop — the Big Tent. Photo work done to order.
n Tom Kilduff was looking over K-T cattle interest in the lower country during the week. He returned to town last evening.

n Welcome “Podna” to the Stage Coach Inn. Dance to Al Wear’s “4 Wheels.”
n Meeker’s undefeated Ray McKee won the state division II, 180 pound mat title at Englewood Saturday night.
n For those hunters who get too many jackrabbits, you might consider selling them to the Craig Steel and Salvage Company. This company has purchased 33,000 jackrabbits at 50 cents each so far this season. The rabbits are trucked to Laramie, Why., where the pelts are used to make felt for hats and the carcasses become mink food.

n In what he hopes will be a long and prosperous friendship, automobile importer Malcomb Bricklin and his friends laid out the welcome mat for about 50 community leaders Wednesday afternoon at his recently purchased lodge upriver.
n For the first time in seven years and just the second in the past 20 seasons, the Meeker Cowboys have a chance to play in the state tournament — if they can get by the Olathe Pirates in Friday’s district tournament game.

n Swinging to victory in the NWL, the Panthers head for further glory Friday in the district tournament: coach Bob Plant, Kent Oldham, Don Roberts, Larry Gierhart, Ron Brenton, Jack Dembowski, Dale Kenyon, coach William McDaniel, Mark Row, Pete Miller, Dale Matrisciano, Junior Matrisciano, Gary Chism, Jerry Mobley, Mike Hutton and Tony McPhail.

n Continuing efforts to reduce its cost of production, Deserado Mine announced the layoff of 38 more employees.
n It took more than 1.5 hours to go over nine policy issues regarding mobile home regulations.
n Tuesday morning around 2-3 a.m., a white female, 20, was raped, bound and gagged in her college dormitory room. A full investigation is underway.
n Thirty-four Panther middle and high school students attended the solo and ensemble festival, including Monica Correll, Maura McBride, Laura Atkinson, Sccott Cline, Michela Atchley, Shawnee Tomlinson, Christ Rogers, Michelle Kiggins, Leah McBride, Joel Gerhart, MaryLou Allred, Monica Deliz, Dawn Henricks, Bryan Conkle, Lisa Norlin and Billy Jo Smithy.
