Rio Blanco County election deadlines:

Voter qualifications:
A citizen of the United States
18 years old by Election Day
A Colorado resident who has lived at the address of record within a given precinct for 30 days by Election Day
Registered to vote 29 days prior the election.
How to register to vote:
Any qualified citizen can register up to, and including, 29 days before an election at the following sites: County clerk offices, driver’s license offices, by mail-in registration forms, various human services agencies and municipal clerk offices.
Mail-in ballot information
(formerly known as Absentee Ballot)
An application for a mail-in ballot may be at any time, but no later than close of business seven days before the election if the ballot is mailed or the close of business on the Friday before the election if the ballot is picked up by the applicant. (Voters may apply for permanent mail-in status to have ballots for all elections conducted by the county clerk mailed to them.)
Early Voting
Early voting is available two weeks before the General Election. Early voting is not available for elections conducted solely by mail ballot. The 2010 Primary will be conducted by mail.
Registration status
If you failed to vote in past elections or have moved, please verify your registration status online at www.sos.state.co.us, or call the county clerk’s office (878-9460). If changes are needed, please request a change form.
Identification required
Colorado law now requires voters to present identification prior to voting at the polls.
Monday, July 12
Last day to register to vote for the primary.
Last day to change or withdraw from major political party affiliation for the primary election.
Monday, July 19
through Friday, July 23
Mail ballots for the primary will be mailed to affiliated/registered electors. Unaffiliated electors may affiliate and request a mail ballot.
Monday, July 19 through Tuesday, Aug. 10
Drop-off locations for mail ballots (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday)
Election Day (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
County Courthouse — 555 Main St., Meeker
Western Annex — 17497 Highway 64, Rangely
(Both drop-off locations will be open Saturday, Aug. 7)
Tuesday, August 10
Primary Election Day
A voter at the primary must be registered and affiliated with a major political party. Any unaffiliated, registered voter may declare a party affiliation and vote.
Monday, Oct. 4
Last day to register to vote for the General Election.
Mail-in ballots available for the General Election.
Monday, Oct. 18 through Friday, Oct. 29
Early voting for the General Election.
Tuesday, Oct. 26
Last day to apply for a mail-in ballot to be mailed.
Friday, Oct. 29
Last day for an applicant to pick up a mail-in (formerly absentee) ballot in person at the county clerk’s office.
Tuesday, Nov. 2
General Election Day
Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Final vote for elected officials and ballot issues. Any Rio Blanco County registered voter may participate. Please bring your ID to the polls.
