Students in Rangely’s Advanced Middle School Summer Writer’s Workshop enjoyed time with Giant Step children last week as they wrote short stories and made “burrito books” together. The middle school students also spent time with Eagle Crest residents, then returned later in the week to share biographies and short stories students wrote for and about the residents. RJSHS English and reading instructor Stephanie Kahler placed a strong community emphasis on the writing course, part of an initiative to provide more academic opportunities to high-performing students in the district.
