RANGELY — Rod and Lenora Smuts of Rangely are this week’s “home of honorees.” Rod moved to Rangely in 1960. Lenora is a Rangely native. The couple has been married 35 years.
Rod is employed by Williams Energy. He has been an oil field worker since he was graduated from high school. Lenora is the branch manager of First National Bank of the Rockies in Rangely.
Rod and Lenora have three children: son Jesse Smuts and his four children, Walker, 14, Riley, 6, Mahaya, 4, and Sawyer, 3 months, of Grand Junction; son Dillon Smuts, wife Mandi and son Dillon Michael, 3, of Rangely and daughter Brielle Carlson, husband David and son Landon, 21 months, also of Rangely.
In their spare time, they enjoy fishing, hunting, being outdoors and “getting out of the house.”
When asked what she likes most about Rangely, Lenora replied, “Being a small town, where I know everyone.”
