RBC | Online registration is now open for the Northwest Colorado Rural Philanthropy Days (RPD) conference Sept. 25-27 at Winter Park Resort, Colo.
The Northwest region for RPD represents Rio Blanco, Grand, Jackson, Moffat and Routt counties. Event organizers are hoping to expand the turnout this year, hosted every four years in each region throughout the state.
The 2013 theme for RPD is “Making Tracks; Connecting Past and Building a Future,” and packs a punch for non-profits in the region: providing valuable training for staff and directors; forums with Front Range funders and government representatives; informal networking for face time with funders; capacity building workshops; inspiring speakers; and a new youth track.
Registration includes three days of meals, including a barbecue dinner at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex. Keynote speaker for the event is Jim Davidson (www.speakingofadventure.com).
Behind the scenes of RPD is the Community Resource Center (CRC), which has partnered with rural communities throughout Colorado for more than 20 years to increase access to funding, relationships and skill building opportunities.
During the creation of the first Colorado Grants Guide in 1991, the Community Resource Center (CRC) of Denver discovered that only 3 percent of the funds granted by Colorado private foundations were awarded outside the Front Range.
