March 2 was the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss. He was born in 1904 and died in 1991. In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday last week, readers’ theater productions by Kathleen Kelley’s Meeker High School speech class were presented to students at the Meeker Elementary School. According to Ann Franklin, MES librarian, who hosted the event along with National Honor Society members, the high school students put on wonderfully entertaining performances of The Sneetches, Horton Hears a Who!, Green Eggs and Ham, and Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? The younger students were brought into interactive performances and really enjoyed Dr. Seuss as usual. Kristin Luce, Kassie Luce, Sydney Main, Eli Hanks, Addie Joy and Lila Klinglesmith, dressed for The Sneetches were in two performances.
