CNCC Student Government Association (SGA) held its first annual Hoedown in the parking lot at the CNCC Weiss Center on Friday, Sept. 13. Dental hygiene student and SGA President Preslee Bunch of Grand Junction dreamed up the idea about two years ago. Friday the event came to life and in a big way. Hundreds of Rangely residents and CNCC students came out to support the fundraiser in which the SGA gives back all the proceeds from the night to community charities that the attendees vote on. The four-hour long event had a barbecue, chili cook-off, pie eating contest, petting zoo, horse rides, sumo wrestling (above), live music dancing, face painting, snow cones and games for the kids. The winner of the pie eating contest was CNCC Vice President of Instruction Keith Peterson. Scan the code with the Zappar app for more photos.
