MEEKER I A 40-year-old woman, who was the passenger on a motorcycle that was involved in an accident last Sunday at the intersection of Highways 13 and 64, remains in critical condition.
Cynthia Weese, 40, of Silt, was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction with life-threatening injuries.
A hospital spokesman said Wednesday said that Weese’s condition was still critical.
The driver of the motorcycle, Johnny Weese, 48, of Silt, was transported to by ambulance to St. Mary’s with injuries to his face and arms. A hospital spokesman said Tuesday that Johnny Weese was no longer listed as a patient.
According to a Colorado State Patrol report, a 2009 Toyota Camry, driven by Lynne Fawcett, 53, of Heber City, Utah, was traveling north on Highway 13 approaching the intersection, when the southbound 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Johnny Weese was approaching the same intersection.
Fawcett made a left turn onto westbound Highway 64, turning in front of the motorcycle. Johnny Weese avoided a collision with the Camry by braking rapidly. The motorcycle rolled and then slid through the intersection, coming to rest about 90 feet south of the intersection. Cynthia Weese was ejected from the motorcycle.
Neither Fawcett nor a male passenger in her car was injured. The accident investigation continues.
The crash occured at 3:15 p.m.
