RBC I It has been tough to miss the haze in the air the past 10 days around Northwest Colorado, but the good news, a government officials has reported, the smoke is not from fires in Northwest Colorado, Southern Wyoming or Eastern Utah, but likely Canada.
Lynn Barkley, the mitigation, education prevention and public information officer for the Northwest Colorado Fire Management Unit out of Craig said, “It is most likely coming from wildfires in Canada. At this point, the only fire activity in the United States in the Southwest and California. Here in Colorado there are no wildfires of significant size to put that volume of smoke in the air.”
