Snowmobiling in June

There is still a lot of snow in the high country, enough for Buddy Ridings to fly up Pagoda Peak last Sunday. Warming temperatures have caused the White River to flood its banks in several places, including the Smith property west of Meeker. Local rancher David Smith Jr., said he hasn’t seen the river this high since “back in ’84-’85. Back in ’84, there was no high ground down there,” Smith said, speaking of his family’s property. “This will make California happy.”
