RBC | The Northwest Region Sportsmen’s Roundtable will meet in Meeker to discuss a variety of important issues involving hunting, fishing and conservation. Sportsmen and women are invited to attend and meet with their regional delegates at 6:30 p.m, July 15 at the White River Electric Association building (Kilowatt Corner), 233 6th St. in Meeker.
The Sportsmen’s Roundtable consists of two elected and four appointed delegates from each of CPW’s regions. The group meets with the public twice each year to gather input, suggestions and feedback. Following local meetings, they meet with CPW leadership to convey the concerns at two, in-person meetings each year.
“Colorado’s demographics are changing and the direction of wildlife and habitat conservation should be a major concern for anyone that hunts, fishes or cares about wildlife,” said Sportsmen’s Roundtable member Denny Behrens. “It’s critically important for sportsmen and women to become involved at all levels right now. We have a lot to discuss so we hope to see a good turnout.”
CPW representatives will attend and help answer questions; however, agency officials stress they are there only to assist. Topics of discussion are determined by roundtable members and the public.
