RANGELY — Rangely Cares Rangely Shares is a new organization in Rangely committed to helping cancer patients.
The group will help with out-of-pocket expenses, such as gas and lodging. There are assistance request forms at each clinic in Rangely, and several of the pastors in town have been provided forms.
The organization does require that requests be signed by a doctor or pastor.
Group members have had a few fund raisers, such as a yard sale, a silent auction (which was rained out and will be rescheduled) and a golf ball drop over the driving range at the golf course.
Members would like to thank the following for their help with the golf ball drop: Frank Huitt for the generous use of his helicopter and his time, Tim Webber for the use of the golf course, Bernie for riding along and dropping the balls, and everyone else out on the course. Thank you to Nora, Phillip and Whitney for picking up all of the balls. Jeff Rector’s ball was the nearest one to the hole. He won the prize of $250, which he donated back to Rangely Cares, Rangely Shares. Thank you, Jeff!
We plan more fund raisers in the future. If you would like information please call one Lynda Cady at 675-5748, Donna Kennis at 675-5437 or Donna Stewart at 675-8758.
