Eskelson, Hill win commissioner seats

RBC I Rio Blanco County elected two new county commissioners in the 2012 Republican primary election. Jeff Eskelson defeated incumbent Kai Turner and Jon D. Hill defeated Chris Brasfield to fill the seat vacated by Ken Parsons. The two new commissioners will be seated in January 2013.

Candidate forum tonight

Candidates for the Board of County Commissioners held a forum in Meeker Wednesday and will be at Rangely Town Hall tonight at 6:30 p.m. to answer questions from voters. Mail-in ballots for the Republican primary election are due back Tuesday, June 26.

Nine candidates vie for elected offices in Rangely

Seven candidates including Joseph Nielsen, Dave Way, John Perry, Brad Casto, Darlene Feller and René Diane Hardin will all have their name on the ballot, which has been mailed out for the April 3 municipal election. The seven candidates for three council seats all participated in a candidate forum last week, along with mayoral candidates (not pictured) incumbent Paula Davis and Frank Huitt. Please vote and return by mail or drop ballots off at town hall.

RANGELY I “It’s exciting to have this happen,” said current Town of Rangely trustee and candidate for reelection Brad Casto. Casto thanked his six fellow candidates and the large crowd that filled council chambers last Wednesday.
