RANGELY — It was quite the week for the Panther squad as they had a couple of wins early in the week and then finished on a sour note in Manila.
MEEKER — The Lady Cowboy basketball team won two more games last week, including a league game against Vail Christian at home last Saturday. Meeker also hosted Hayden Tuesday, in a non-league game and will play in Colbran Friday, before hosting South Routt County (Soroco) this Saturday.
MEEKER — The Meeker Cowboys basketball team picked up two victories over the weekend.
RANGELY — With little time to practice in a week filled with games, the RHS Lady Panthers knew they might have to do some adjusting on the fly, and for the most part they were up to the task. The first match of the week was a non-league contest against the visiting Altamont Longhorns.
MEEKER — In a match between two Cowboy teams, the Meeker Cowboys and Plateau Valley Cowboys, last Thursday, it was the visiting P.V. Cowboys who came away with a victory and hung the first loss of the year on the Meeker Cowboys unbeaten record 64-58.
RANGELY — Although it was their first game back after the holiday break, the RHS Lady Panthers basketball team showed no signs of rust on the road against the Soroco Rams. The fast start by the Panthers was fueled by a combination aggressive defense in the backcourt and strong post play on the offensive side.
RANGELY — Talk about coming full circle, and in a short amount of time. Mark Skelton is back teaching and coaching with the Rangely School District after having left last spring.

MEEKER — The Lady Cowboy basketball team won all three of its games to win the High Country Invitational basketball tournament last week in Granby. Meeker defeated Love Christian, West Grand and host Middle Park to go undefeated in the tournament.
MEEKER — The Meeker Cowboys boys’ basketball team earned three more victories this past week at the High Country Invitational Tourna-ment in Granby.
MEEKER — Coming back from a disappointing performance in the WREA Cowboy Shootout from the week before, the Meeker High School girls’ basketball team traveled to Olathe last Saturday and defeated the Pirates 52-36.
