Local golfers win in Rangely

RANGELY I Fourteen teams divided into two flights played in the annual DUCO two-man best ball tournament at Cedar Ridges Golf Course on Saturday in Rangely, and local golfers won both flights.

Rangely golfers get even, win RBC Cup back by large margin

After two years of bowing to Meeker golfers, Rangely golfers earned their revenge in a big way, dominating the two-day Rio Blanco Cup Tournament at Cedar Ridges Golf Course in Rangely on Saturday and Sunday. Last year, Meeker just slipped past Rangely for the win, but Rangely dominated them from the beginning this year.

RANGELY I “It was about time we won again,” Robby Elam said after golfers from Rangely, playing on their home course, won the Rio Blanco County Cup back from Meeker, where it has been the past two years.

Big weekend of golf tourneys in Meeker; battle for cup in Rangely

RANGELY I Terrell Lowry, Josh Mosley, Tyler Dahl and Dustin Kissling returned to Rangely to shoot 19 under par and win the 27-hole, four-person scramble on Saturday at Cedar Ridges Golf Course.

RANGELY I Eighteen couples, including many from other Western Slope towns and Vernal, Utah, played in the annual Couples Classic on Cedar Ridges Golf Course last weekend, and Rangely couples were well represented in the two-day event.

Playoff needed to determine winner

RANGELY I Nine teams competed in the annual Elks Scramble golf tournament at Cedar Ridge Golf Course on Saturday, yet the competition was so close a playoff was needed to determine the winner. The local team prevailed.

Cedar Ridges Golf course will host the annual Elks Scramble on Saturday. The group from Meeker was spotted entering the clubhouse in Rangely and the Rio Blanco County Cup, which will be played for later this month in Meeker, was not reported missing.
