Dembowski’s first love: “Cars”

Memorial benches and a walkway for Traker Dembowski were the outcome of Fruita artist Jeff Bates’ work and efforts by a number of people in Rangely and Meeker. The benches represent Traker’s favorite characters from the movie “Cars.”

RANGELY I In loving memory of the child who once played there, three custom benches and a one-of-a-kind concrete walkway now flank the south side of the Elks Park playground.

A grand re-opening …

A grand re-opening of Elks Park in Rangely was held Saturday last to celebrate the improvements to the park in the past year.

With new pavilions, restrooms, concession stand, scoreboards and more, Elks Park is celebrating with a grand re-opening, family fun day planned for July 7. Tickets for the Surf-n-Turf lunch must be purchased by Friday June 29 or you can pick up a $5 hotdog meal July 7.

RANGELY I Over the last year, Rangely residents have watched Elks Park undergo a facelift, from new restrooms and dugouts to a custom-made entrance sign and a larger pavilion.

100th birthday

It rained during the annual senior barbecue hosted by the Town of Rangely in Elks Park but it didn’t keep more than 100 people from attending including Reinhard Fricken. Fricken celebrated his 100th birthday.
