Rec. center summer swim team ends season

Eighteen local kids, ages 5-14, joined the Meeker Recreation Center Summer swim team this season and competed in five meets. Members of the team were; front row; Sam Lange and Katelyn Atchley. MEEKER | The ERBM Recreation and Park District sponsored the Meeker Recreation Center (MRC) Summer swim team, which started June 6.

MEEKER I  The Smith siblings from Rifle made a clean sweep of the annual junior golf tournaments in Craig and Meeker this week.

Co-ed softball season underway

bobby gutierrez Softball games are played every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on the Paintbrush Park ball fields, starting at 6 p.m. The league has 11 teams, including one from Rangely, pictured shaking hands after beating a Meeker team (one Rangely member was overheard saying how much fun beating Meeker teams was).

MEEKER I The 2011 coed softball season kicked off last week and the fields are full. Games will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights with six games most nights.

MEEKER I The focus was on food at the Meeker Rec Center’s first Road to Wellness class of the season. Not on the lunch provided for the class, but on ways to use food – nutrition – to improve health.

‘Annie’ auditions Tuesday at Meeker Rec

ERBM’s free summer concerts begin Friday with ‘One Time’

The Meeker Recreation and Park District unveiled its new outdoor screen for the first time June 11 during the “Movies Under the Stars” series. July 9 is the next outdoor movie, at dusk on the softball field at Paintbrush Park.
