ERBM Recreation and Park District announces Halloween event winners

Zombie Madison Kindler “infects” one of the 35 runners who participated in ERBM Recreation and Park District’s third annual Zombie Run, held as part of the Saturday events celebrating Halloween.

MEEKER I Thirty-five runners took part in the third annual Zombie Run on Saturday (Halloween) morning, starting early at Sanderson Hills Park.

About 70 sledders and pushers took part in the ERBM Recreation Center’s Winter Blast creative sled races Saturday at Paintbrush Park in Meeker.

Punkin’ Chunkin’…


Before finding success sending the small pumpkin flying more than 150 feet, this duo had a tough time with the punkin’ chunkin’ catapult during the Haunted Happenings event Saturday afternoon at Sanderson Hills Park.

Dance like everyone is watching


Kari Jo Stevens, dance instructor for the ERBM Recreation and Park District, along with chaperones Edy George and Michelle Smith, traveled with nine dance team members to Tampa, Fla., for performances during the pregame and the halftime shows at the Outback Bowl, which featured the South Carolina Gamecocks vs. the Michigan Wolverines.

ERBM strategic plan draft presented

Dirt work at the new Sanderson Hills Park has started and according to ERBM Recreation and Park District director Mike Weinbrecht, is part of Phase I, which also includes laying sod, planting trees and the completion of a walking path around the new park. Weinbrecht said Phase I should be completed by mid-October of this year.

MEEKER I Consultants from GreenPlay, LLC, who were retained by the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Park and Recreation District’s board of directors to facilitate development of strategic planning, presented a first draft of the strategic plan for future development.
