4-H members do well at state fair

RBC I Rio Blanco students in 4-H and FFA fared well at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo the past few weeks, led by Meeker’s Macy Collins, who, according to her mother, Kathy Collins, “just returned from a very successful state fair.”

National FFA scholarship awarded to MHS grad

MEEKER I The National FFA Organization awarded a $1,000 Ford Trucks/Built Ford Tough scholarship to Ethan Overton of Meeker High School.

More than 500 people of all ages attended the annual FFA petting zoo Friday, May 4. FFA members provided tours and information for attendees.

FFA hosts farm day May 4

MEEKER I The Meeker High School Future Farmers of America would like to invite the community to attend our FFA farm day program Friday, May 4 on the south side of the high school in the vacant lot between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

FAA honors Coulter’s service

MEEKER I Former Meeker Airport manager Gary Coulter was surprised when Rick Stednitz of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Safety Team showed up in Meeker to honor the retired pilot and aviation mechanic with the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic award.

After Birth Ball a success for FFA chapter, chamber

More than 300 people enjoyed an evening of fun, food and dancing at the annual After Birth Ball, held last Saturday in the packed Fairfield Center. The event benefited the the Meeker High School FFA, sponsored by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce and supported by local energy companies Enterprise, EnCana, XTO and Williams.
