RBC I Summer is coming to an end and again it is time to get ready for waterfowl hunting in Colorado. Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s avian research section leader Jim Gammonley offers a brief forecast to help hunters determine if it will be a good season.
MEEKER I The Rio Blanco County Historical Society believes that Rio Blanco County thrives by celebrating its heritage roots. At 1 p.m. on Sunday, the society will honor the county’s hunting heritage, and the public is invited. The celebration will be held at the Old West Heritage Culture Center, 517 Park Ave. in Meeker.

MEEKER I Convicted poacher and former outfitter Dennis Eugene Rodebaugh, 73, of Meeker, Colo., learned Aug. 25 that his appeal to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has failed, affirming the 41-month prison sentence and fines he received in early 2013 for illegally baiting deer and elk with salt.
MEEKER I Once again this year, Barone Middle School in Meeker will holds its annual Big Bucks and Bulls Contest in which students at the school can win nice prizes and improve their math at the same time by bringing in the deer or elk antlers they harvest this hunting season.
