The Meeker FFA Chapter, one of the largest student organizations at MHS with more than 75 members, brought Donkey Basketball to Meeker for some “good family entertainment,” according to Trina Smith. Smith said the funds raised will be used to provide scholarships and other educational opportunities for chapter members.

FFA Ag Issues team to Denver

Meeker High School’s FFA Agriculture Issues team, made up of students Kaylynn Dunham, Tristan Nielsen, Anna George, Jamie McLaughlin, Brittany Smith and Kaitlynn Dinwiddie, presented their program examining the multiple use of lands to the Meeker School Board on April 16. The team traveled to Denver this week to present their program to Colorado state legislators at the state Capitol.

Meeker FFA chapter competes in district contest

The Meeker FFA Chapter, represented by 36 members, traveled to Oak Creek for the district leadership conference and annual district speaking contests. Freshman Madison Shults won the annual creed speaking contest. Shults will now represent District 1 at the state FFA creed speaking contest held in conjunction with the 2013 Colorado State FFA Convention in Sterling in June 2013.
