Meeker Mustangs…

The Meeker Mustang youth football program has three teams, including one complete team and several other players from Rangely this year. All three teams out-ran, out-passed and out-tackled the Piranhas from Grand Valley in all three games they played, including an overtime victory in the third game at Starbuck Stadium in Meeker on Sept. 26.

Practicing Mustangs…

The Meeker Mustang football season is under way, teams have been practicing and games are scheduled this Sunday for both the third/fourth grade team as well as the fifth/sixth grade team. The Mustangs will play six games and the older team will be eligible for postseason play following the Oct. 19 game. The league consists of teams from Rifle, New Castle, Parachute, Glenwood Springs, Silt and Meeker.

Mustangs split with Rifle Cubs

MEEKER — The Mustangs took the field on Meeker’s turf Sunday afternoon and the young Mustangs faced off with the Rifle Cubs. The Cubs came to play as they rolled up the field and scored first, putting the Mustangs behind 8-0.
