Dear Editor: An engineering firm and common sense has determined our new Meeker elementary school to be “unsafe” for our children and teachers. The taxpayer now has an $18,000,000 white elephant.

MEEKER | Nominations for school board candidates in the Meeker RE-1 district are now open. In November three directors will be elected for four-year terms on the school board.
RBC I Editor’s note: Candidates in the Nov. 3 election for positions on the Meeker and Rangely school boards were asked to respond to general questions about their qualifications and why they are running for office. The responses that were received appear in alphabetical order, first for Meeker, then for Rangely.
MEEKER I Facing a revenue shortfall of more than $400,000, the Meeker School Board approved a budget of more than $6 million last week.
MEEKER — Although final budget approval won’t occur until later, even into early next year, a preliminary budget was presented to the Meeker School Board at a meeting May 19.
